Hello all!

Just wanted to say hi. I just joined the list. I found it while
searching for some info on "Marci" rainbows. I was sad to discover that
they are hybrids. I've been told by the wholesaler who got them that
they are very pretty. I'll be passing on the Marci, but I've got a pair of
Chilatherina bleheri, and a female M. parkinsoni waiting for me.

I've got some pictures of my rainbow tank up on my website. I've currently
got a spawning pair of M. boesmani, 2 Glossolepis incisus (I think they are
both male), 1 male M. lacustris, 3 male and 2 female M. herbertaxelrodi,
3 M. praecox (unknown sex), and a bunch of Iriatherina werneri.

I'd love to hear any comments about the photos. The website is

I'm not currently attempting to breed them (I'm aware of the problems of
unwanted crosses, etc). I do plan on setting up a breeding tank. It will
be connected to sump filtration of the main tank. I'll move a spawning
pair to the breeding tank, then move them back after spawning. Once any fry
are large enough to move, I'll move them to a heavily planted spare tank. It's
used mainly to hold plants that I've removed from the display tank, or plants
that I just got that will be planted in the main tank once I make room.

I did manage to get a single fry. I think the egg must have been attached to
some plant clippings I pulled from the main tank. I discovered the fry
swimming in the plant holding tank. It is now about a half inch long total
length. I'm hoping it's a boesmani. They are the only pair I've seen
actually spawning. The herbertaxelrodi have started displaying, but
I've never seen them spawning.
