Once you can get the culture going and stable, they are awesome. The
culture can double in population everyday. Also they can be enriched, much
like artemia and via biological concentration actually be more nutritious
that plain green water. They do not die in freshwater like artemia napuli,
and thus do not pollute the water. Often very easy to over stock in a tank
with fry and leave it be for a few days. The brackish water species work
well for P. cyanodorsalis and P. signifer fry. I would just stock the fry
tanks with rotifers and forget abou t it for weeks at a time. The work on
empire gudgeons seemed to indicate that the enriched rotifers were
important as they are much smaller than artemia (about 1/4 depending on
species).
