Post-Doctoral Fellow
Center for Biodiversity and Conservation
The American Museum of Natural History's Center for Biodiversity and
Conservation (CBC) seeks a Post-doctoral fellow to work closely with
the CBC Director and the International Field Program Coordinator to
prepare comprehensive research reports for print and electronic
media, focusing initially on our interdisciplinary, multi-taxa field
research in Viet Nam.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The successful candidate will prepare a series of comprehensive
research reports for various audiences based on the results from our
interdisciplinary, multi-taxa biodiversity surveys in Viet Nam. The
reports will integrate and synthesize survey data for focal taxa
(including mammals, birds, fish, herpetofauna and plants),
socioeconomic studies, and remote sensing and GIS data. The candidate
will work closely with CBC and Museum scientific staff to develop
research goals, monitor progress and help promote and coordinate
timely publication of results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have: a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology, ecology,
conservation biology or a related field; substantial knowledge of
systematics and collections-based research; strong analytical and
statistical knowledge; a solid publication record; excellent skills
in organization, time-management, and oral and written communication;
and a strong ability to develop and maintain personal and
professional interactions in a museum setting.
