ASTAXIN
DESCRIPTION
AstaXin is IGENE's trade name for its inactivated dried yeast product made
from the organism Phaffia rhodozyma. AstaXin provides a natural source of
the pigment astaxanthin, which imparts the characteristic red color to the
flesh of salmon, trout, and other aquatic species. IGENE's yeast is
specially formulated to maximize bioavailability of the pigment.
APPLICATION
AstaXin is a free-flowing granular powder that can be readily blended with
other feed ingredients to meet formulator's specifications for pelletized
as well as wet and dry extruded feeds. As a natural source of protein and
other nutrients, AstaXin can replace an equivalent amount of vegetable or
animal meal used in aquaculture feeds.
PACKAGING
AstaXin is packaged in 10 kg boxes containing a heat-sealed foil bag.
STORAGE AND HANDLING
Shelf life at least 6 months when unopened packages are stored in a cool,
dry place. Avoid unnecessary exposure to air and light. Refrigeration preferred.
