IRC #rainbowfish: The Final Word

Seems like my mention of IRC drove some list members into a frothing rage of
netcopmanship... I am *not* going to sidetrack this list into a debating
club about IRC or any other facet of the Internet - but I have decided to
take exception to a couple of comments made in one previous email in
particular: that chap has pushed what few buttons I have, and is about to
get the toasting of his life, BUT I have taken it to PRIVATE email, where it
belongs, and I am sure I speak for all of us when I say that this is how it
should be handled from now on...

Censorship is not an option... The channel *is* going ahead, and I cannot
force anyone to participate who "doesn't believe" in IRC, nor would I want
to. It is not a part of this list... it is seperate. I am putting this
email on this list to make this quite plain... The profit/loss equation of
IRC is not appropriate material for this list.

Those who wish to participate in either the channel or the ensueing
argument, send me a PERSONAL email and I will let you know when the test-run
is to go ahead/respond in kind (as appropriate), if you let me know what
time zone you are in, preferably with a recogniseable time-reference point
(like, "I am on Los Angeles time" or "I am an hour behind Washington time"
or "I am on Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane time"). Let me know your preferred
time(s) and I will work around them... Those who want to know what IRC
actually does, email me PERSONALLY as well. (Shouting writing in this and
any other paragraph entirely intentional).

And if you are not interested, fine. Just remember that good old no-flaming
policy.

Regards, Andrew Boyd
