M. praecox are pretty "praecocious" :) I have heard reports of them
spawning at 1cm of length, which I can't vouch for personally but I have
seen them actively displaying at only 2cm SL (tip of nose to start of the
"clear" part of the tail).
TBSAD I think that they will spawn when they are ready, this seems to
differ within species - just keep an eye on them. Observation and the
recording thereof will tell you.
