Welcome Chad

I think you have made an excellent choice of species. They will all do well
in similar water conditions - and tolerate a wide range but seem to like
moderate hard and mildly alkaline parameters e.g. 200 ppm/7.4

Over here mops will contain anything from 20 to 150 eggs so I guess you
should enquire form your intended supplier. I agree that mops are the way
to go because you end up with a school of each and that's how the RAINBOWS
LIKE IT.
And that's how they look the BEST.

Regards,
Bruce.

livebearers and Corydoras. I have been informed that the best way to start
is by getting a mop of eggs and hatching them. I've read most of articles
at the RSG page. I still have some questions though. What is the average #
of eggs per mop. What water conditions are needed for the following speices
Melanotaenia boesemani, Melanotaenia herbertaxelrodi, Melanotaenia
lacustris. Are these the best starters?
