Just a short introduction as I've been lurking here for a bit. I have some
boesmani from a friend who got them from a hobbyist breeder some time ago.
I joined the list after reading Peter's article in AFM. I'm very interested
in the peacock gudgeon as well and adding some to my planted tank with the
rainbows. Possibly breeding them in the future.
Anyway, I haven't actually purchased fish from a fish or pet store in quite
some time, but I'm very interested in learning more about the supply of
both fresh and saltwater fish. I know that $$$ is a big factor but it's not
always the only one, and information is not always so forthcoming from some
folks in the business <g>. You mentioned you saw these rainbow crosses at
both Ekkwill and Segrest Farms. Did you ask them about the crosses and the
possibility of getting better stock? If not, why. If yes, what was their
response?
