Yesterday I noticed my largest male Delanies Cr. dubolayi had some
stringy white shit coming from his gills. This stuff was approximately
1 cm. in length. It didn't look alive or anything...almost looked like
shredded tissue. The fish was breathing rather hard in the middle of
the tank and would not feed. He had displayed this behavior at least
one day prior to the onset of the visible gill thing.
Anyway, I treated the tank with formalin yesterday. Today the stringy
white shredded tissue lookin' thing is gone. The fish is feeding. He
is still breathing rather heavy, but not as bad as before. I hit the
tank just now with another dose of formalin.
I wonder what that is/was. Anybody have an idea? No other fish in the
tank was affected...yet.
