Perhaps you are a beer for breakfast person? Microworms will do just fine
in stale bread soaked in beer ( it can even be stale beer)!

I also like the stale bread approach but in my household we don't waste beer :-)
on microworms. I some baker's yeast to a little bit of water to dissolve it. I
then quickly dip the bread in in on both sides to get it slightly wet. Put it
in the dish and then smear the microworms on. The yeast is used to help compete
away any of the bacteria that might attack the bread. Sometimes if you don't do
this it will turn the bread very black and smelly. This is the same reason that
many of the fruit fly culture prepared mediums also suggest adding a pinch of
bakers yeast.
