The 2 sole species found commonly in FW are difficult to keep going for
long - although many people have had the odd individual that has persisted
for a year or two. IMO they need hard alkaline water with some salt added
and live food like Tubifex worms. They would probably do OK in an African
Rift Lake type of set-up. I understand their habitat is usually hard
alkaline water e.g. the Daly river and similar streams

Perhaps some P. signifer would make good tank-mates for your DG's

Hi all How are you... I have two questions today :-)

1. The local pet store this week had some sole in a tank. He says they are
native and i was wondering what sort of informtion you all might be able to
provide on these weird fish. Apparently they like alkaline water and can
tolerate salt water ( in his own words)
I was under the impression that sole was solely (no pun) salt water anyway.
He had them in fresh water.......?

2. I have set up my desert gobie tank .. Finally .. and the next question
is
are there any particular native fish ie. Psudomugil sp.,that i could place
in the tank with them?
Any suggestions as the water is only 6 inches deep at its deepest point.

Thanks
