This idea is perhaps a long shot, but maybe worth investigating. I seem to
recall that there is (or was) an Australian missionary living in PNG (David
??), who in the past has accompanied Gerry Allen and/or others on a number
of collecting trips. I think this particular gentleman also assisted in
the collection of M.Vanheurni, and is an avid bowhead. If this person is
still in PNG, and if someone personally knows him, perhaps we might be able
to see if he has any captive stocks of Wanamensis, or knows someone that does.
Anyone out there know this gentleman or someone in PNG who happens to be an
enthusiastic bow collector ?
