I know this is really a wierd off topic post, but all the spam
going around has made me hungry. Most of you people and the rest of the
world, for one reason or another find SPAM distasteful, bothersome, etc.
But here in Hawaii it is the food of the gods, people actually check the
advertisments to see when it is going on sale. There are cookbooks about
how to cook SPAM. It is a daily thing for many people, there is even SPAM
lite for the health concerned. Would you all believe it is acutually kinda
expensive in Hawaii (supply and Demand I guess).

We would cook it with cabbage, eat it right out of the can, make a
teriyaki sauce and fry it, sandwiches anyone? It is a godsend for anyone
who can't cook or has no one to cook. I am not sure if this is grossing
everyone out , but there are even contests to see who's recipies taste the
best.

Come and visit me in Hawaii and I will take you to sample some
gourmet items made with SPAM.

Truth be told as a kid I never really liked it, but lately it fills a need
of processed meats (which ones I am not sure) and sodium, fat, etc. I have
never cared for it and ketchup (except in scambled eggs).
