Hello all,
I guess it is time to come out of the shadows and introduce myself. My name is John Whitson, and I have been keeping fish for seven years, six months, and thirteen days now (it seems too much like an Alcoholics Anonymous greeting to resist;-) (no offens

e intended y'all). Over these paltry number of years, I have kept the traditional mix of community fish and cichlids, along the way breeding several different types of tetras. I have kept some store bought bosemanis that were more than willing to spawn,

but unfortunately were in a 150 gal community tank and the tankmates showed a definite preference for caviar. Sadly, I lost the bosemanis when I moved them to a 30 gal b/c of some evil gravel that pushed the pH up *very* quickly. Since then, I have inv

ested in a pH meter (the best investment ever), and have cast the evil gravel from my abode with many a curse heaped upon it. As I am in the process of ordering some Pseudomugil signifers from Chris Drew, I am sure that I will soon be pestering this list

with many inane questions. So you can see that self interest is at the heart of my introduction :-). Anyway, my thanks to Andrew and Alan for a most enjoyable forum to discuss rainbows. This list has provided much information as well as entertainment.

On a similar note, hats off to Baz for a wonderful new site. As well, a delayed congrats and thanks to all of you who put forth the time and effort to make the information available on the web in such a pleasant manner.

John
