Peter, it may be of interest to list members if you could tell us the title
of this paper and where we can get it from!
Thanks,
Adrian T.
Hello Adrian
The discussion paper that I was referring to was the proposed changes to
the quarantine laws. It included a couple of hundred pages of fish
diseases, transmission agents and their quarantine importance. It should
be available from AQIS, though the time for submissions was last october.
As far as I know ANGFA ACT was the only part of ANGFA to respond to these
proposed changes. It is interesting reading as long as you can skip
through the uninteresting bits about shellfish imports and the threat to
the trout and salmon industries. Which is a bit of an irritating point,
probably the major reason that the changes are being suggested is not to
protect the australian native fish, but to protect our fledgling salmon
and trout industries.
I will put the full title up tomorrow
Peter
