Chirs, as Mike said it depends on what fixture you have. If your fluorescent fixture has a normal starter and ballast then it will work with a timer. If its a fixture that has what is called switch start ballast then it wont work. An easy way to tell t

hem apart it to turn on the fluorescent light using its own on/off switch then turn off the light at the powerpoint. You then turn the switch at the powerpoint on again and if the light starts up you can use it with a timer.
