You haven't been to North Western Australia, have you!? ;)
About half the year is over 35 degrees C (max) and never drops very
low. I have seen what I think were M. gracillis in full sun in a
small pool on a 39 degree day. The pool was only 4 metres long and
less than 1 metre deep! It was very warm and the fish were not
avoiding the shallow water!
