The whole philosophy of man's inhumanity to every creature on this earth (
and other men for that matter) gives me nightmares sometimes.If we went
about it properly there would be no need for Aquaculture for food
production. Sustainable use of the resource and respect for the environment
should- ensure that traditional harvesting of the resource would continue
into the future ( especially with unversal ZPG ) but we all know what a
"pie in the sky" hope that is :-(

The fish are "pieces- of meat " waiting to be put in the market place. Not
fascinating marvels of nature. I still like a feed of fish, meat, chicken
etc but it does seem a shame that the animals apparently need to be
subjected conditions that are unacceptable to many people.

Long-term I feel that this could lead to buyer resistance on several fronts
- inhumane treatment of the animals ( of course many people don't consider
fish to be worthy of even being called animals ) and even more worrying is
the inferior quality of the product, both taste and nutritional content.

Food for thought indeed!
