A drongo is a very attractive garden bird, dark blue-black in colour with a
"fishtail" but I guess the colloquial usage is more what you had in mind

For drongo read mug, dill, moron, lair, idiot, stupid etc - supposed to be
after a racehorse that never won a race :-)
