The African frogs That I have will eat anything that will fit in their
mouth. They started out on fish food and graduated to my favorite fish.
After they obtained a size of 2.5 inches I gave up on the flakes and feed
them gambusia from the creek out back. They can get quite large. I saw an
albino clawed frog at the Fort Worth zoo that was big enough to eat a full
grown trifasciata. With his legs stretched out he was at least 16 inches
long. I have never had one that big.
I had one 7 inches long till he climbed out of the tank and dried out.
I had the tank covered with a piece of plexiglass 3/8 of an inch thick and
he just pushed it out of the way. Many times I would hear strange noises in
the house at night and get up to investigate and damn near shoot that poor
frog. He even scared all my dogs one night when he lost traction trying to
cross a peice of cardboard that I left on the floor. It sounded like some
one shaking a can of cichlid pellets in my fish room. I had a bed full of
dogs quickern I could push em out. Big tuff 2 pound dogs all the way up to
my fearless friend with that damn white hair that is on everything I own.
She thinks she can walk on people just like the little ones.
I have done all the talkin I can stand now, my larnyx is gettin sore. It's
back to the murky depths for me.
