John,
I have quite a few of them, also. They will lay eggs when fairly young.
As soon as the males have full color (about 2") and the females a little
smaller, throw in a mop and you should get lots of eggs. They are very
prolific in my experience. If you ever want to swap eggs or fish for
long term maint. of this species, just drop me a line. I've grown quite
fond of them and intend to keep them as long as possible.
