Yes, the more I think about it the more I have to question how this is
introduced into our tanks.
Ryan feeds lots of live food in summer to condition his fish for breeding
and has live bloodworms, mosquito larve and daphania in abundance. For
some of his fish all they get is this diet all year round supplemented by
chopped earth worms, white worms and baby brine shrimp.

Potential breeding stock and most of his fry only see flake about once a
month when he is tired out and can't be bothered collecting live food. (Of
course the spoilt fish just turn their noses up at the flake food but the
sucking cats go nuts.)
If the source could be identified it would be wonderful but in the
meantime we will just have to regularly treat all our tanks as a
preventative measure.
