Good question, I bought these at the pet store and they did not know. The
common name is Red Tailed Rainbow, they have one deep blue band down the
middle (lateral), with three fainter thinner blue strips below the
lateral. Above the lateral line is three faint yellow strips. The
operculum has a red dot, the Dorsal and tail are red. I know this sucks
cause I don't know the species but I am breeding these as they caught my
eye at the store and mainly as I want to learn how to handle the eggs as
I am looking to purchase some rainbow eggs in the future so I am
practicing now.
