I have no idea about the mating habits of fish in aquaria, and I know that there
are many of you out there who have much experience in breeding in captivity.
So here is my question regarding the gobies that I recently caught in Coff's
Harbour.
The Longfin and to a lesser extent the Tamar River goby are displaying the
following
behavour : they wiggle their tails while at the same time flapping their
pectral fins.
All this is done while on the bottom of the tank, without moving forward.
Is this meant to be a come on to any prospective males ?. The other longfin goby
has no interest, it must then be another female or perhaps an immature male ?
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Cheers Richard.
