Not that I keep the smelly little buggers any more, but when I did I had a
great deal of success with uncooked instant porridge ("oatmeal" to the rest
of you) soaked with enough water to make it soggy but not dripping wet, then
"innoculated" with only a tiny amount of microworms - definately none of the
old culture media. I used to have cultures last a air while, but I
'rotated' to new cultures every third week, so with three cultures one was
always at it's peak.
Now I use Vinegar Eels, which are a lot less hassle!
