I've used vinegar eels along with APR powder for years in raising 'bows but
recently a very skilled aquarist I know expressed doubts about the food
value of the eels.
Then a spawn of Betta smaragdina that I was feeding the same combination
didn't survive a four day stint without food. They were eating the eels and
I could observe their bellies get white from consuming them. A subsequent
spawn of the bettas have been fed only APR powder in solution and are
growing much faster than the previous spawn.

This has got me puzzled. Any imput would be appreciated.
