Yo,
Thanks for the info on the mineral blocks. I presently am using
crushed coral as I have bags of the struff around as I use it in my
filters for the African Rift Lake tanks I keep. I am assuming that
calcium can also be derived from the crushed coral just as it can
from oyster grit or shells and the mineral blocks, I guess that main
question to be asking is at what rate is calcium being put into the
water column with crushed coral versus mineral blocks or oyster grit etc.
Any know?? I have had rainbows spawn and fry survive in my African Rift
Lake tanks, but this morning was the first time I really tried to
salvage the eggs by putting spawning mops in. I collected about ten
eggs, I probably would have gotten more but I over slept and did not
check the mops until 11:00 a.m. the fish usually are fed at 8:00
a.m. so I am sure they were hungry and foraging off those mops
before I got to them.
Also just let me ask as anyone used Maroxy to prevent fungus on
eggs?? any opinions on products to use, I am sure I just opened a
pandoras box with that question.
