Calcium requirements

Hummm, now that supports my idea of the use of mineral blocks instead of shell
grit. In a closed system where 30 ppm calcium hardness is the supply, rasing 75
juvies in 38 liters of water will the shell grit disolve fast enough to meet
the demand where the food isn't high enough in calcium to meet the requirements
of the growing fish? I personally think not. To me, the blocks are the simplest
solution as they do not release the calcium too fast to be a problem whereas a
liquid suplement would be a pain to use and could cause ill efects potentially
raising the ph too fast depending on the buffering capibility of the water. With
all the other minerals available in the blocks you would think that it would
round out a good fry raising scheme provided the dietary requirements are met.
How can you possibly get it better than this in a closed system??? I am open to
Ideas......
