[RML] Iridescense in fish

Just wondering. It seems that it is possible to enhance the yellow, red,
and orange colors of fish via dietary manipulations. Is it possible to
enhance the blue and iridescent colors of fish also? In fooling around
with the cyanodorsalis It seems that the yellow comes and goes depending on
what mood they are in, but the blue remains most of the time. Is it
possible to make the blue mor intense? From doing some reading in the
killifish, it seems that the irirdescence is affected by O2 or CO2
concentrations. Also exposure to the sun, fish recieving more sunlight
tended to be more iridescent. I have to wonder if sunlight has a major
effect like in humans and Vitamin D. Or does the increased sunlight promote
the production of phytoplankton and mke it possible for the fish to get
more of the coloration enhancing pigments. Any ideas? Designing my fish
room and making some plans, I would like to have a well insulated skylight
that spans the entire roof of the structure sort of like a greenhouse.
Might be a good idea gotta talk to the thermal engineering person. It
seems like a good way to nautrally heat the room also, provided that the
heat can be vented after it gets to a certain point...
