Compared to other gudgeons, Peacocks are peaceful. Just watch them for
fin-nipping as they are prone to do it IMO. Perhaps I don't keep mine
well-fed enough :-)
I have reared them as you do and I have raised them by taking the eggs away
as for cichlids with an airstone near the eggs too. By letting them spawn in
pieces of pipe (PVC) laid on the side, they will usually spawn on the roof
of the cave. Then just turn the pipe vertical and rest it on 3 old airstones
and place another airline under the pipe and you have an artificial airlift
replacement "father" Peacock.
The fry seem to take Vinegar eels and microworms almost immediately too.
