People on the plant list talk about giving a new plant a one or two
minute soak in a dilute bleach solution as a method of getting rid of
any algae the plant may be harboring.
Hopefully, that should take care of any stray mycobacterium. I don't
have any scientific evidence, but it's hard for me to conceive of a
plant as a the host of first choice for the bacterium.
