The records at Berrimah Animal Research Centre as far back as 1993 indicate
no wild native fish were found to have mycobacteriosis. The records
before 1993 are on a different computer program and may take some time to
be accessed.

So Adrian you had better move to Darwin and keep fish in the Northern
Territory because it still looks like TB is not a problem here ;-)
The NT needs an organised aquarium fish club, you get used to the humidity
because it is more constant. Everybody has trouble with October and
November but when the wet comes it is magnificent. Last week in the fresh
water, I caught a goby I have never seen before.

I think that nobody has really taken the time to look for mycobacteria in
NT fishes because all the animal health professionals have very full plates
with diseases that affect international trade and zoonotic diseases that
are potentially dangerous to large chunks of the community. Fish TB could
be out there but it is not obvious.
