We had a discussion on this topic quite awhile back. Luckly we had
somebody to fill us in and warn us of a couple of false species to
watch out for. I had originally came across the name when somebody
sent it to me with the species check off list with RSG. I hadn't heard
about this species so I posted a question if anybody had any info as
to its status.
I was able to pull the posting on the reported species used in this
cross from my saved archives (damn there's alot stuff in there).

Scott those fishes were originally imported from Holland.
In fact that commercial breeder (his name is Hammer) introduced 3
"new" species M. marci
M. Hammerri and M. Greeti.
The three species are crosses, but I don't know which fish were
crossed.
He crossed M. boesemani with M. maccullochi and a M. trifasciata (at
least that's what he told) to "create" the marci.
I don't know what mixture he used to create the other species.
