people who post most of the messages don't want to constrain the fun side
of things too much. I'll be the first to agree that some posts are
purely unneccessary and some have no fish content what so ever. Perhaps
we need to require some fish content in all posts? But then you can miss
some of the offbeat humour that I and some others enjoy.

a bit of light stuff on the side. Sure, not everyone sees the funny side
in all posts but the odd one has me in stiches. But at least there was
content. Australians also tend to have a more open sense of humour than
many other cultures, thus I can understand where the funny side can
sometimes be lost on others and taken more as a rude offense. But again,
most of this humour is between folks who know one another too.

That was just degenerating into a slanging match with little or no real
content, just ethical opinions. I was enjoying it though! :-)

You are not allowed to sell wild collected fish without the appropriate
license which some states don't have (ie, you can't do it at all). In some
states you require a fishing licence (ie, for collecting "baitfish", but
this only allows you to use a dip net or similar. To use "real"
collecting gear like a seine requires a permit which are not given out
very easily. Exportation is doable but a pain in the backside. I'm sure
Roy can tell us more about it. :-) His backside is still hurting from
it.......

No one gets too out of joint here if one were to step on their toes. I'm
glad to see a few new members making the effort to post and introduce
themselves. It's the only way to maximise exchanges on the list and to
further ones interest. You can pick up a lot from watching, but there is
nothing like getting involved. I think we all look forward to hearing
from more of you and your opinions.
