Richard,
please dont take offence to my views, but its not a matter of having
a thriving trade or not but rather the advertising that you can successfully
take a number of fish from the wild and sell/exchange them for goods at an
aquarium store. If everyone one did this it would be a poor state of
affairs. I was under the impression that members of this list were about the
conservation and maintaining of native fish stocks, not capturing and
selling. If people want to make a few extra dollars from our fish stocks it
would be a better idea to take a few fish and breed them and sell the fry,
rather than devistate our fish stocks. The penalties for these sorts of
crimes are fairly large and apply to the seller, buyer and the environment
in general. These are just my views and if Im the odd one out then perhaps I
shouldnt be a member of this list. My intention is not to provoke flames or
is it to preach but to merely identify what it is that this group is or
should be about. Ill get of my soap box now.
