What has been other list members experiences with Praecox. My experience
with them has been that they don't appear to be long lived, not for
rainbowfishes anyway. I don't think I've had any go over 12-18 months.
However, I think maybe this is more related to high temperatures than
anything else. I know one fellow here in Australia who has some at least 3
years old and are quiet large. He keeps them at somewhat lower temperatures
than I do. I don't heat my fishroom and the fish just have to handle
whatever the room temperature will be at any given time. Here at the moment
(7.45 am) and my fishroom temperature is 32°C. Even in winter time it
doesn't drop below 20°C. I think perhaps we would be better keeping them
between 20-24 if possible.
