I wonder why Gordon couldn't have sent this email as his first - or perhaps
it is not really Gordon writing this new line. One thing you must give him
- 125 per cent for trying! I also believe that he underlines some very real
concerns and question marks hanging over the future of native fish ( and
the native fish-keeping hobby). Gordon has been unrelenting over the years
in his efforts to get PNG species back on the "allowable imports" list and
has never let reputation, qualification, scientific opinion, government
policy or for that matter any body else's opinion or contrary concerns
deter him from that "holy pursuit".

I am not sure which particular Australian native species has him concerned
but I do not recall any from the various private phone calls I have had
from him recently.I believe he genuinely has made an effort to distribute
fish that he has bred, as well as obtain new species as soon as he has
become aware of their possible availability. It is a shame that his
commercial efforts have not met with the success that he would have liked
but that still doesn't give him the right to label others with the term
"hypocrisy". I wish him luck in dealing with officialdom if his dialogue
there is as endearing as his recent contributions to this list
