The shipment of all rainbowfish and eggs to Australia is illegal unless you
have a permit. However, the onus is on the receiver here in Australia if
they are discovered by the customs people.

This is the way that ALL of the newer New Guinea fishes have been imported
into Australia. Some live ones also have been smuggled in as well!

If it wasn't for the smugglers there would not be a lot of NG rainbowfishes
available in Australia today. Many people who point their fingers are the
very ones enjoying the newer species.

Until the Government changes their stupid law this will continue.

Adrian.
