you should have Melanotaenia solata (formerly splendida australis) or
splendida australis (Alligator River) and M. splendida splendida Wallaby
Creek.

Betreff: [RML] Rainbow fish
Dear Sir/Madam
I have recently acquired 2 types of Rainbow fish from an aquarium in
Melbourne, Australia. When I asked for more information, they suggested that
I search the Internet (so much for post sales customer service!!). Having
purchased Dr Axelrod's fish book from this store, I was hoping that these
types of fish would be listed in the book.
During my search of the Internet I found your email address.
My fish are the Rainbow Alligator River and the Rainbow Wallaby Creek.
I am mainly interested in the environment/conditions that I should create
for my fish, what other fish are compatible and whether they are aggressive
(not my preference).
I have kept fish for about 18 months now, having started with goldfish &
then moved to tropicals last August 2000.
I have had some poor advice in the past & ended up with quite aggressive
fish - cichlids.
At the moment I have 4 clown loaches, 4 rainbows (2 of each type), 1 x 4"
synodontis catfish, 1 blue ram, 1 gorami, 1 danio, 1 sucking catfish and 1
platy. Odds & sods you might say.
I would appreciate if you could give me some advice in respect of where I
could go for more information.
Regards,
Karin Kowalski
