I have a pair of Rendahls' catfish (hope I spelt that right *grin*) who act
as mobile anti-snail vacuum cleaners. They are extremely effective against
the Malay burrowing snails, and anything else small enough to fit into
their mouths. Yellow finned Tandans though, don't seem to like snails.
They like bow eggs though :-(.

IMO a combined approach should help but a major cleanout is probably the
best way - if you aren't after big numbers of fry then just use the old
""lettuce leaf on a saucer"" trick and just whittle down the numbers
