Searching the NMNH collections at Smithsonian, I found a record of Brachygobius sp. from PNG, collected in Mangrove Creek flowing into Oro Bay, Popondetta district. This genus was not included in Allen's "FW fishes of NG", a book including many brackish s
pecies and also some species collected only once.
The collector, T. Roberts, has collected Brachygobius from many other locations, so I asume he is familiar with the genus.

Do anyone know any other records of this genus from NG?
