I think that at the same meeting Karen made some very good comments
about the DIY plant food. She seemed to think that the Copper levels
in the trace elements was really on the high side (from what the
people were reporting). Those are the types of levels that she
unfortunately has in her tanks because of the natural copper in the
water. Some fish are fairly sensitive to it, over the long haul.
She hasn't been able to keep the bows around for longer than a few
months, and feels this is due to the copper levels. She thinks this
is probably is keeping the algae down so low in these tanks too.
Just a caution to those that would rather do this on the cheap. A
different source of trace materials w/out so much copper would be
worthwhile finding and using.

personally, nor has she that I know of. You should try hooking up w/
Aquatic gardeners Assoc. They have a web site -- Rhonda, can you
provide
this? I was just at their general meeting this Friday past -- wow!

feel insignificant, and I thought I knew something about plants, too!
