I really love your choice of fish as the werneri is one of my favorite
fishes. But I really wouldn't suggest them as a first bow from eggs.
They really are one of the trickier bows to raise fry from. If you're
looking for an easy fish that would do well under your conditions, I'd
suggest P gertrudae. They like soft acidic water and the fry are much
easier to raise.
A local new rainbow enthusiast wanted to get some werneri eggs from me
but I encouraged him to try a couple of other species first. He did
quite well with the three batches of eggs and decided he was ready to
give the werneri a try. He did finally manage to raise some werneri
fry from eggs, but it was after his third mop. His persistance did pay
off in the end, but I think he would have been very discouraged had he
started ordering werneri eggs via the mail.
