[RML] Nitrite spike?

Okay,
I am trying my hand at breeding and I have eggs. I took water from my
37gal tank and filled my 10gal. I took and had my power filter hooked up
to the 37gal for three weeks. It now is filtering the 10gal. I just found
out I am way over the safe level. I have a product called Liquifry No.1 it
reads that it helps with bacteria growth. It adviced me to put some in at
the egg stage to get more bacteria for the fry.
Question: Is the Liquifry No.1 possibly the problem that I am having with
my Nirites?
