[RML] ANGFA (WA) first at aquarium show

ANNOUNCEMENT: ANGFA (WA) put in three aquariums at the 1997 Aquarium Show,
hosted by the Cichlid Society. One aquarium was a 4ft heavily planted tank
with 60 Melanotaenia splendida from (Streets Creek) and 4 Neosoluris
aeter, the second was a three foot planted tank with 100 I. werneri and 50
M. praecox and the third tank was a lthree foot ocal native tank with
Galaxia occidentalis (Western Minnow), Edelia vittata (pygmy perch),
Bostokia porosa (nightfish), Psudogobius olorum (Blue spot goby),
Arenigobius bifrenatus (bridled goby), and Favogobius suppositus (bigmouth
goby).

The four foot planted tank kicked butt! Voting for the best tank was a
public vote and out of 1200 votes we got about 2/3 of them!

*** Now the truth about the 4 foot tank**
The tank was setup by Ken Shaw. He was constantly heckled and harrassed by
all the other people setting up tanks the day before the shos because he
was cramming so much plant into the tank that it didnt look like there
would be any room for the fish! On a sad not the fish that had looked so
great in Ken's shed (Streets creek) looked like shit in the show tank.
They were colourless and skittish and 15 of them perrished when they hid
behind the internal filter and got stuck!

PS We WILL get some A-Z sheets made up for our local natives SOON :-)
