The idea was to sign off on the letter with a name and location. This
way the reader could see that the concern was worldwide.
The main thought behind the suggestion was one of logistic simplicity. I
thought it easier to organize a hundred signatures rather than a
hundred letters. I can see that the volume of mail would have a great
impact but, I'm not sure ( well I am pretty sure actually!;-) ), that many
folks will take the time to write.
