Yes, I would have loved to fly out to the WCW. Boy my
arms would's gotten tired though. (rim-shot). We too
often have an annual show here about the same time and
the potential audience is 99% different from those who
would attend the west coast event. One of these years
...

Did you peddle rainbow eggs at the WCW Julie?
Sometimes killie groups will allow that, others will
not. The CKA has a healthy regard for many "honorary
killies" whichg are welcome, so long as they are not
in overwhelming numbers. To my dismay though, the last
guy who sent livebearers to a killie auction about got
booed off of the stage.

By the way, a couple of us ran down to Peoria, IL for
last Saturday's auction of the Tri-Counties Tropical
Fish Society. He was dumping cichlids, I was dumping
extra livebearers so we would have, you gessed, it,
any wextra tank space.

As per previous arrangements, a couple of well
populated mops from the rainbow tanks were packed in
widemouth gallon pickle jars. Also soaked, dried and
packed a bunch of old medicine vials.

After the auction, the TCTFS members were invited to
pick so many eggs and place them in a vial. Kidded
about the vials, "... sure the eggs will be ok. And
their blood pressure should be great too."

Instructions in terms of incubation, getting the eggs
out of the vial and feeding were given. Those eggs
will be their "grow-out contest" this year.

Every fish club member loves a bargain, and while we
know that "free eggs" aren't so free once an aquarium
or two has been put into service on their behalf, that
is a fun way to plug rainbows and even encourage
gun-shy aquarists to try raising tiny fry.

All the best!
Scott

Heh,

Yeah, we Bowheads do tend to get into killies -- or
vice versa -- over time
don't we?

Just to rub it in a bit further, you just missed West
Coast Weekend here in
Portland OR this past weekend. Awesome show with great
speakers and LOTS of
eggs/fish for sale and a generally fun time for all
who attended. I took
home more than I had room for, of course, and managed
to get decent prices
for the fish and eggs I sold. Y'all should attend next
year. We do this one
up right.

Oh yeah, and we have the best beer in the continent
here in OR. Even the
Germans were impressed. ;-)
