This only gets better.
I understand that our Transplant Committee has issued the Buddhists a permit
to allow the release of animals. The permit only allows the release of
"domestic" species. It was issued in an attempt to provide them with a
legal alternative and as an incentive to avoid releasing exotics such as
lobster!

Jim and Derrick,
Very interesting. As I recall, we've had similar reports of lobsters seen
by recreation divers in Burrard Inlet by Vancouver. There was some
speculation that it could be related to Buddhist practice of releasing
animals back into the wild. (Derrick, how did it taste? Guess it would
have been great if prepared in that Japanese restaurant in Nanaimo, washed
down with Saporo beer or sake!)
