Subject: Conservation of Croatian freshwater fish

Dear Rob

I was initially introduced to your organisation by Dr Peter Burgess, one of
my professors during my MSc in Applied Fish Biology at the University of
Plymouth, England. I have good connections with some ichthyologists in the
Republic of Croatia, who are keen for me to work on research and
conservation of a newly discovered species, Mrakovcic's goby, in the rivers
of the Adriatic watershed. There are estimated to be 6 or more endemic
species yet to be described by science, and I believe it is important to
promote their conservation. Would the ACN be able to fund such work, or
possibly suggest possible sources of funding, since money for science in
Croatia at the moment is scarce?

Yours,

(Mr) Marin Greenwood, BSc, MSc
