I suggest that you have a look at the following two books (if you haven't
already):
Stoskopf, M. (Ed) 1993. Fish Medicine. Saunders.
Gratzek, J. B. & Matthews, J. (eds) 1992 Aquariology: the Science of Fish
Health Management. Tetra.
We at the National Aquarium in Baltimore have published our (largely marine
fish) quarantine protocols in the 1994 AZA proceedings, and the Tennessee
Aquarium has also. Contact Chris Coco at Tennessee (tel. 423 785 4006) for
their ideas; they are a largely freshwater aquarium.
Let me know if NAIB can help.

>Dear vetplus list,
>does anyone have a good procedure for quarantining tropical fish? I
>am trying to set up an economically feasible system for a moderately
>sized fish retailer. The problems lie in the length of quarantine,
>the cost to change the existing flow through system, and cost of
>prophylactic treatment for sick fish. If anyone has ideas or
>opinions about ways to get around these problems or if you have set
>up
>quarantines before I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.
>thank you
